GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 29, 2022) – Red Cross staffers and volunteers are among the hundreds, if not thousands, of first responders from across the country who are in central Florida to address the needs of those affected by the impact of Hurricane Ian. The flooding of the storm that was a Category 4 when it made landfall on Wednesday night has brought back images of Hurricane Katrina, and according to Breeze Ettl, Executive Director of the American Red Cross West Michigan Chapter, the lessons learned over 17 years ago are being applied now.
Those who wish to help, either financially or through blood donations, are encouraged to visit the American Red Cross website.
Ettl made her remarks during a Wednesday appearance on “WHTC Talk of the Town.”
