OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 27, 2022) – The transition of operational leadership with Ottawa County government is now complete.
During Tuesday’s biweekly board meeting, the governing panel approved a contract with Patrick Waterman to become the county’s new deputy administrator. He replaces John Shay, who was promoted to administrator this past March following the departure last year of Al Vanderberg to Kent County.
Waterman has been Hudsonville’s city manager for the past 12 years, overseeing the renovation of the downtown district among other improvement and enhancement efforts. He has also been Grand Haven Township’s Community Development Director, and has private sector experience in municipal planning and engineering consulting.
Waterman will begin his work as Shay’s right-hand man, at an annual salary of $158,000, on November 21st.
