HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 27, 2022) – Tulip Time Festival is pleased to announce that we will be joining in the fun of Fall Fest! Why does Tulip Time celebrate fall you might ask – – because that’s when we plant the tulips! Plans are underway for a fabulous Fall Fest in Downtown Holland this coming October, sponsored by West Michigan Toyota Dealers! Tulip Time is excited to partner with Downtown Holland hosting Community Tulip Planting, and Fall Artisan Market.
Fall is the time to plant the tulips!
Tulip Time, together with the City of Holland Parks Department, will host the annual Community Tulip Planting on Friday, October 7 from 10a-12p and 1-3p, and on Saturday, October 8, from 8-10a and 10a- 12p. The planting will take place at Window on the Waterfront Park, located on 6 th Street between Columbia and College Avenues.
Each fall the City of Holland plants tulip bulbs throughout downtown Holland, city parks, and Tulip Lanes. The Community Planting Volunteers will help plant over 75,000 tulip bulbs at Window on the Waterfront Park. Community volunteers have assisted the Parks Department in planting bulbs for several years. “This is a great way to get involved with the Festival,” commented Gwen Auwerda, Executive Director of Tulip Time. “And, in the spring, you’ll have bragging rights and can show off the tulips you planted to your friends and family!”
Dress for the weather, bring your green thumbs and gardening gloves. The City of Holland Parks Department will supply the bulbs, necessary tools for planting and plenty of instruction. To participate, please register at www.tuliptime.com/volunteer.
The Fall Artisan Market will be held Friday October 7 and Saturday October 8 at Windmill Island Gardens from 10am-5pm. Admission to the garden is $5/person.
