TROWBRIDGE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 25, 2022) – One person suffered serious injuries and a bridge south of Allegan is in need of repairs following a single-vehicle crash on Saturday evening.
According to Allegan County Sheriff’s Sergeant Blair Kacos, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to Bridge Road near Primrose Place around 6:15 PM. That was where a SUV heading southbound struck the guard rail alongside the bridge, went onto an embankment.
The unnamed driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was unconscious and had to be extricated by rescue workers. He was taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment.
Kacos said that speed and alcohol were possible contributing factors to the crash, which remains under investigation. Bridge Road between Primrose and 110th Avenue will be closed until repairs are made to the bridge as a result of the incident.
