Alice Elaine Berens, 91, of Douglas, MI passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Douglas Cove Nursing Home. Born August 14, 1931, in Holland, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Bertha (Vander Zwaag) Zwiers and was the wife of the late Robert John Berens. Alice loved elephants and enjoyed collecting different elephant items over the years. More than anything, though, she loved her family. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson brought her the greatest joy. She will be remembered for her sweet, kind, and caring nature and will be missed by all who knew her.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Vicky (John) Drapak; brother, Donald (Arloa) Zwiers; grandchildren, Mathew (Chelsa) Brandsen, Andrew (Katie) Brandsen, and Bailey (Sean) Locke; and great-grandson, Tyler Brandsen. In addition to her parents, Harry and Bertha, and her dear husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim (Joyce) Zwiers.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Chappell Funeral Home is assisting the Berens family.
