Skip (Walter Sheldon) Pattison was born Sept. 8, 1939 in Detroit to Walter and Jolley Pattison. He lived in the Detroit area until he was nine, and then his family moved to Muskegon, MI. He graduated from Muskegon High School in 1957 and attended Western Michigan University. He taught Math for 36 years, mostly for Pennfield Schools. He loved working with young people. He was a resident of Battle Creek during his working years, but when he retired, he and his wife, Louise, moved to Douglas, MI. They have spent the past 22 years together in this wonderful community. He referred to Douglas as his “little bit of paradise.” He loved living by the lake. Skip was an avid boater, traveler, woodworker, dog lover, maker of stained glass, and trivia player. He loved people and always had a smile and a good story.
Skip’s most valued time was time spent with his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Louise; his daughter, Shannon Clemans and her husband Timothy; his grandson Christian Edward; and granddaughter Claire Elizabeth.
