DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers are coming away with a series victory after shutting out the Los Angeles Angels 4-0 in their finale Sunday in Detroit.
Eduardo Rodriguez earned his second win of the season after holding Los Angeles scoreless over five innings of work. Riley Greene went two-for-two at the plate with a pair of walks and a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the first inning.
Shohei Ohtani was charged with the loss after allowing three runs in four innings pitched. The Angels are now 52-and-69 while the Tigers improved their record to 47-and-76.
The Tigers are off today and will begin a two-game interleague series with the San Francisco Giants tomorrow at Comerica Park.
Drew Hutchison will get the start for Detroit. San Francisco will counter with a familiar face in former White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon.
