KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — State Representative Thomas Albert (R-Lowell) issued the following statement on Tuesday, August 2, on winning the Republican primary for the new 18th State Senate district, which covers all of Barry County and portions of Kent, Ionia, Allegan, Kalamazoo, and Calhoun Counties.
“It is a great honor to be chosen by the people of the 18th Senate District to be their Republican nominee for the upcoming November general election,” said Albert. “I am proud of the results I was able to deliver for my community as a state representative on reigning in reckless spending and pushing back against government overreach. I am looking to continue fighting for individual liberty and limited government.”
Albert currently serves as the House Appropriations Chair.
In his previous two terms he served as the Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Corrections and Chair of the Financial Liability Reform Committee.
