Dorothy Brower, 96, of Bentheim, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022.
Dorothy was born November 2, 1925, on the family farm in Bentheim, to Ben and Dena (Vander Poppen) Schipper. She married Gordon Brower in 1946, and they raised their three children in Bentheim. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Bentheim Reformed Church and played the organ for several decades for weddings, funerals, and worship services. Gordon preceded Dorothy in death in 2017 after 70 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her grandson Mark Brower in 1996.
She is survived by her children: Sherwin and Carol Brower of Bentheim, Randy and Cyndy Brower of Bentheim, and Debra and Les Meiste of Hamilton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kerri and Steve Spaman (Kelsey and Levi), Steve Brower (Samantha Klokkert and John Barnanski), Phil and Kim Brower (Averie, Hudson and Jasper), Michael and Ashley Brower (Remi, Emma, Claire), Amy and Kurt Glupker (Hannah, Madi, Kenzie, Gabi, Josie, Jordyn), Dena Meiste, Darrin and Stephanie Meiste (Arlo, Benjamin),; in-laws Alma Jean and Jim Keppel of Grandville.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Bentheim Reformed Church, 3997 38th Street, Hamilton MI 49419. Visitation will be 4-7 pm, Friday, July 29, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland MI 49464. Interment will be in Bentheim Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
