HOLLAND, MI (WHTC M/FM) – Clean-up work continued Sunday after severe thunderstorms rolled through West Michigan Saturday night, prompting warning and leaving damage in their path.
The National Weather Service issued issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Ottawa Counties until 10:15 p.m. Saturday, with many neighboring counties also under warnings during the late evening.
The weather service reported large branches down on Waverly Avenue between Chicago Drive and 8th Street, one mile northeast of Holland.
At the height of the outages, Consumers Energy reported over 65,000 customers had lost power, but most had been restored by Sunday night. The utility, though said some isolated customers might not get their power back until Tuesday.
