UNDATED (WHTC) – A completely full slate of games is on tap tonight involving all 20 varsity basketball teams among the 10 high schools in the Holland/Zeeland area, with nine boys/girls or girls/boys doubleheaders.
Among the OK Conference boys/girls tilts: Holland Christian at Zeeland West, with Greg Chandler brining you the boys’ contest at 5:40 PM on 1450 WHTC; Holland at Unity Christian; West Ottawa at East Kentwood; Byron Center at Zeeland East; and Hamilton at Forest Hills Eastern.
Girls/boys twin bills include: Saugatuck at Coloma; Bangor at Fennville; and Black River at West Michigan Aviation Academy.
Calvary’s teams play split opposition at Holland Christian High, with the girls hosting Grand River Prep, followed by the boys taking on Godfrey Lee.

Grand Valley State doubled its basketball pleasure in style at the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale last night. In the opener, Bailey Cairnduff scored 17 points with 12 rebounds as the Lady Lakers downed visiting Michigan Tech, 64-52. The nightcap saw the GVSU men defeat the visiting Huskies, 74-57, as Trevin Alexander tallied 15 with 10 caroms. Grand Valley State now welcomes the Northern Michigan Wildcats to Allendale for another doubleheader tomorrow afternoon.
Last night, Michigan upset visiting Wisconsin, 64-58. This evening in state major-college basketball: The University of Detroit entertains Illinois-Chicago at Calihan Hall; and Oakland is home to Valparaiso.

Jimmy Butler capped a 29-point performance by sinking two free throws with less than a second left to lift the Bulls over the visiting Boston Celtics last night, 104-103. Chicago is now off for the NBA All-Star Game break, returning to action next Friday evening at the United Center against the Phoenix Suns.
