HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — There are no sidewalks on Lawrence Street near Zeeland Christian School, but children do walk along Lawrence to get to school, according to Zeeland Mayor Kevin Klynstra
City officials’ plans to install sidewalks there hit a couple obstacles, starting with residents opposing the move. But there are also some utility fixtures that have complicated design plans, he said, and would have put sidewalks either too close to homes, or too close to the street.
Right now, Zeeland city officials are looking at a compromise for installing at least one sidewalk. To learn more about the plans, you can attend a public meeting set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, in the West Activity Room at the Howard Miller Community Center,14 S. Church St.
