HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A roof collapse injured three people in Allegan, at 611 Delano St. in Allegan Township on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, according to Allegan County dispatch authorities.
Sheriff’s deputies worked with Allegan police and Allegan firefighters and paramedics from LIFE Ambulance to help the three, who were trapped under the fallen roof.
Police say subcontractors working to remove an older, single-wide trailer from the property were dismantling the trailer when the roof fell on the trio.
Investigators found a significant amount of snow on the roof, coupled with little support for the load, caused the collapse.
The workers had not been using available safety equipment, according to police.
Two of the three victims suffered serious injuries and went by Ambulance to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. The third victim, who had minor injuries, declined medical treatment, against medical advice, according to authorities.
No names are being released in this case at this time.
