WASHINGTON (WHTC-AM/FM) – A coronavirus emergency spending bill is now law.
The roughly eight billion-dollar package signed on Friday by President Trump is aimed at helping states and the federal government respond to the growing COVID-19 threat, including money to help speed development of a vaccine. The emergency spending bill was approved by Bill Huizenga and his colleagues in the House earlier this week, and the Zeeland Republican claims that everything is in the open on this.
“Everything has been information that we can talk about,” Huizenga said during his weekly interview on “WHTC Morning News” on Thursday. “Can you imagine the message that it would send if we were doing classified briefings. Everything has been out; it’s all public information, and it’s not anything that we have that the general public doesn’t have. We’re just making sure that we are all that we are all up to speed on the latest.:
Before the vote, Alabama Republican Senator Richard Shelby said it is time to put partisan politics aside, and the 96-1 margin reflected that sentiment in the Upper Chamber.
