HOLLAND, MI (Press Release) – At Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity, our highest priority is the health and safety of our entire community. That is why we have chosen to close the Holland ReStore effective immediately (through March 31) in order to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
These are the protective measures we are enacting today:
- We are closing the Holland ReStore (to shopping and donation drop-offs) and suspending donation pickups until March 31.
- Our main office will be closed to visitors, though our staff will continue working. For scheduled meetings, we will reach out to arrange remote options or conference calls.
- We will cease to host volunteers on construction sites, in our offices, and in the Holland ReStore until further notice.
We will continue to make our decisions based on the best information available, and we will do our best to be responsible and timely in making and communicating decisions.
We would be incredibly grateful for your help during this time. While closing our ReStore is the right decision during this health crisis, it is not done lightly. Our ReStore helps provide overhead operating dollars that keep our ministry running smoothly. If you feel called to make a donation directly toward our operating costs, you can donate online or by check and indicate “Operating expenses.”
Additionally, we are about to begin a new home build in the city of Hamilton. Because of the health crisis, we canceled our kick-off meeting. If you would like to be included on a list to receive updates regarding this build, please email development@lakeshore.org. We are looking to raise an additional $80,000 to keep the build moving forward. If you would like to make a donation specifically toward this home build, you can donate online or by check and indicate “Hamilton build.”
Above all, please join us in prayer!
