HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Allegan County has 12 residents who tested positive for COVID-19 — double the number from Friday, April 5, 2020.
Eleven more are waiting on test results, and county public health officials are monitoring 50 others for signs of the coronavirus.
In Ottawa County, state health officials on Saturday indicated 39 people had the virus. Ottawa County health officials yesterday indicated that two of those cases have since been reassigned to other jurisdictions.
Statewide, 14,225 have confirmed cases of the aggressive upper-respiratory illness, and, so far 540 people have died from it.
Dog parks in Ottawa County, sports fields and playgrounds have been closed, though paths for biking and walking, as well as hiking trails remain open, as do state parks — though officials have indicated that if crowds congregate or people don’t observe to social distancing rules, those may be closed as well.
