ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The West Wing is under a renovation of sorts.
President Trump’s new chief of staff, Mark Meadows, has reportedly escalated tensions in the White House with a swift series of staff changes that have drawn complaints from some about his management style, according to people familiar with the matter. The most visible move thus far was the departure of Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham after nine months, as she was moved to the chief of staff for First Lady Melania Trump in favor of Alyssa Farah.
House Representative Bill Huizenga entered Congress 10 years ago along with Meadows, a fellow Republican from North Carolina, and the lawmaker from Zeeland isn’t surprised by all this.
“Ruffling feathers? Absolutely (it’s) what Mark does, much like Mick Mulvaney had done prior to him,” Huizenga said during his weekly interview from his home district on “WHTC Morning News.” “It does not surprise me, for with a new regime coming in like that, there’s going to be new faces and new people that are going to be prominent on that. Frankly, I would expect more.”
Meadows is Mr. Trump’s fourth chief of staff in a little more than three years.
