DETROIT, MI (WKZO-AM/FM) – Texas scored early and often, while keeping Detroit’s bats silent, in their 7-0 win against the Tigers Friday at Comerica Park. The Rangers scored three runs in the first inning and added single runs in the third and fifth inning and two more in the sixth.
Texas starter Jon Gray allowed only five hits in 7 innings of work with 6 strikeouts, while the bullpen kept Detroit hitless.
Tigers starter Tarik Skubal was charged with the loss, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits with 4 strikeouts. Willi Castro was the only Tiger to pick up multiple hits, with a single and a double.
