HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Grand Haven resident Cameron Toppen, 20, entered a guilty plea to murdering his girlfriend’s baby in 2018, according to the Grand Haven Tribune.
In a plea deal, Toppen said he was guilty of second-degree murder and first-degree child abuse in the death of eight-month-old Scarlett Burroughs.
The bay died in the hospital several days after Toppen shook her while he was supposed to be caring for her in Grand Haven Township. His sentence is set for May 18, 2020.
