HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) – Holland Fire Capt. Chris Tinney is raising the alarm over unauthorized burning. Since March 1, firefighters have responded to 24 incidents — 19 in April, alone.
This is a significant increase over last year, Tinney said, when just three incidents were reported in April and three in March.
“Any open burning of brush and yard waste is prohibited and you could be cited,” he said in a message to WHTC. “Cooking and recreational fires are allowed with certain restrictions.”
