Jean Marie Moermond, a servant of the Lord, was born on November 28, 1936, and went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2022. She worked as a registered nurse. She loved singing in the church, Bible Studies, gardening, reading, and basket weaving. However, she considered her greatest accomplishment being a loving mother of four.
She is survived in death by her children Linda DeGroff, Deborah Petersen, Caroline Grayson, and Timothy Moermond, 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, her brother, Richard (Ann) Decker, her sister of the heart Connie Phillips, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Jack Moermond, sons-in-law George DeGroff and F. Scott Petersen, her parents Dennis and Helen Decker, her brother, Robert Decker, and her sister-in-law Betty Decker.
A time of visitation will be from 1-2 pm Friday, June 17, 2022, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland with the funeral service to follow at 2 pm. Private interment will be in Midland Municipal Cemetery.
