HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Two Coopersville residents riding a motorcycle were seriously injured and rushed by AMR Ambulance to Holland Hospital Sunday afternoon after a crash, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Vander Ploeg.
The crash, at 120th Avenue and James Street in Holland Township, happened just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday when a 38-year-old Zeeland man hit the motorcycle with his Jeep Grand Cherokee while attempting a left turn onto James Street.
The driver later told police he didn’t see the motorcycle. The force of the crash sent the Harley Davidson backwards into a 2014 Audi that had stopped in the left turn lane of southbound 120th Avenue. A 20-year-old Holland woman was driving the Audi.
Both occupants of the motorcycle, a 41-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. The Zeeland man and the Holland woman driving the cars were not hurt, according to police.
