HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 72-year-old Zeeland man got ticketed for causing an injury crash while carelessly driving a GMC pickup truck towing a fifth wheel camper just after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2020.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s officials say he had been westbound on the I-196 business loop and attempted changing lanes just west of 112th Ave in Holland Township.
He later told police he did not see a Jeep already occupying the next lane.
The collision sent the Jeep roling into a ditch, pinning the driver, a 55-year-old Grand Haven woman, inside. Holland Township firefighters extricated her and she went to Holland Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
