HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Two more Ottawa County residents have died from COVID-19, bringing the total to 21, according to county records. No details on the two were released as of Thursday evening, May 7, 2020.
So far, 385 people have gotten postive COVID-19 test results. Nearly nearly three dozen are hospitalized, while 98 people are considered recovered.
Allegan County health officials report 129 people with positive COVID-19 test results, with 25 more people showing symptoms consistent with the virus and eight people waiting on test results. Two Allegan residents have died since the start of the pandemic, and 24 people are considered recovered.
Statewide, 4,343 people have died from the virus and 45,646 people have been diagnosed.
More than 250,000 people have died, worldwide, from the virus. In the U.S., nearly 76,000 people have died and close to 1.3 million people have confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Health officials at all levels of government remind people that 80 percent of people who get the virus have few, if any symptoms.
