HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – In the midst of the COVID 19 situation that has disrupted all aspects of Western society come a couple of things in Holland that will be held as scheduled today.
First is the Holland Farmers Market regular season, with vendors at the 8th Street Marketplace every Wednesday and Saturday from 8 AM to 2 PM through December 19th.
The second is the consideration of the annual budget by the Holland City Council during the meeting on the second Wednesday of May. City Manager Keith Van Beek says that the proposed spending plan for Fiscal 2021 will be subject to plenty of adjustments after July 1st, due in part to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
“We’re in a position where we’re not trying big, huge, long-term decisions right now, when we’re still in the midst of things and we don’t have all of the good information yet,” he said on “WHTC Talk of the Town” during his monthly appearance last week. “When I presented (to council during a work-study session) last week, I said that this is a budget that we are going to have to mend more than normal.”
The Holland City Council meeting will be in chambers at City Hall, beginning at 6:30 PM, with the public encouraged to follow online. The link to the meeting agenda and how to follow along is here.
