HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Two more Allegan County residents have died of COVID-19 as had another Ottawa County resident, bringing each county total to five and 31, respectively.
In Allegan County, 190 people have tested positive; 30 people have probable cases and 25 are hospitalized; but 88 are considered recovered from COVID-19.
In Ottawa County, close to 55 people are hospitalized with the virus. The steady increase in the number of people testing positive is now 615, with 70 probable cases,and 214 considered recovered.
Statewide, 53,009 people are listed as infected and 5,060 have died from the virus. While in the early weeks of Michigan residents getting ill, the majority were non-white, data displayed currently on the state’s website shows that, while whites comprised 36 percent of the people getting the virus, they now make up 51 percent of Michigan residents who’ve died from COVID-19.
More than 1.5 million Americans have been identified as COVID-19 patients and 93,431 have died.
