HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A beach hazards advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. for Ottawa, Allegan, Mason, Oceana, Van Buren and Muskegon counties, according to the National Weather Service meteorologists in Grand Rapids.
Beach visitors are being told to stay on dry land, because high waves and strong currents, create dangerous swimming conditions. Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers. Beaches could potentially be closed, according to weather authorities.
