ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – There will be a Zeeland Zoom race in 2020 … just not at one time on the streets of Zeeland.
City officials announced on Thursday that the 11th annual event that spotlights the city’s downtown and nearby neighborhoods will be done individually due to the state’s COVID 19 restrictions. Beginning next Tuesday, which was to be the date for the actual 5K excursion, anyone can either run or walk the actual 3.1-mile route, or they can create their own, and the tour is to be completed by June 30th.
“The event is free to register for, or you can purchase a Zeeland Zoom shirt for $15,” said City Events Coordinator Kerri VanDorp. “Last year’s Zeeland Zoom was a lot of fun with over 1,000 participants ZOOMING their way through the streets of Zeeland, and our eleventh annual Zoom will be a bit different, but no less fun.”
A link to register for the event is here, with a place to post a time and a selfie here.
