HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Wayland Police detectives are investigating reports of a man who allegedly exposed himself to several people — possibly in Allegan, Kent and Berry counties and perhaps other communities over the holiday weekend.
Wayland Police Chief Mark Garnsey told WHTC in an email the man, whose name is not being released because the investigation is ongoing, should be considered innocent until proven guilty. He is not currently in police custody.
“There is an on going investigation involving alleged flashing,” Garnsey wrote in an email to WHTC. “The Wayland Police have one case fairly complete and are seeking charges.”
He indicated more witnesses / victims are to be interviewed and the city may have as many as three cases in town.
“As far as the public, although the crimes are disturbing, there has been no physical contact by the alleged suspect with any victim,” Garnsey wrote. “At this time all Wayland cases are believed to involve adult female victims.”
He said there’s no indicated of underage victims.
Garnsey asked that anyone who has had a similar experience over the holday weekend contact their local police agency to make a report.
