HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 24-year-old Grand Rapids man was seriously injured when a 2012 Chevy Suburban hit the moped he was driving, just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020, in Georgetown Township.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies, called to the intersection of Baldwin Street at 12th Avenue, found the the man had been steering his moped from southbound 12th onto eastbound Baldwin when the Chevy, driven by a 39-year-old Hudsonville resdient, hit the moped.
The Chevy had the green light; the moped turned on a red light, police said.
The moped driver, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, went by ambulance to Metro Hospital with serious injuries, police said. The Chevy’s occupants were not injured, police said.
