BANGOR, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) — A woman died in a Bangor house fire that drew seven fire departments just before 5:15 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2020.
Bangor firefighters immediately called for mutual aid upon finding the home at 20 Cass Street fully engulfed when they arrived.
The woman trapped inside was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The State Fire Marshal and Van Buren County Medical Examiner responded to the scene, as well as firefighters from Columbia, Covert, Hartford, Lawrence, Watervliet and South Haven. Bangor Police and Michigan State Police troopers, as well as Pride Care ambulance EMTs also aided at the scene.
With temperatures hitting 94 degrees, firefighters rotated in and out of the front line. No firefighters or other emergency responders were hurt.
