HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County health officials say a man in his 90s with pre-existing conditions is the 54th resident to die from COVID-19. He is Ottawa County’s 54th death from the coronavirus, and the first reported in 17 days.
Since mid-March, 1,638 Ottawa County residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19, with 601 still considered ill.
In Allegan County, where more than 14,000 tests have been completed, seven have died and 423 have been diagnosed.
State health officials announced Tuesday that another 669 residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 as of Tuesday. Of the 16 people whose deaths were added to the coronavirus fatality list, 11 were found in a vital-records review.
Since the pandemic hit Michigan in mid-March, there have been 79,176 Michigan residents diagnosed with COVID-19 and 6,170 people who have died from the virus.
