GEORGETOWN TWP. MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 14-year-old girl was hospitalized after a golf cart overturned in a subdivision east of Hudsonville on Saturday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matthew Wildfong, a group of five teens were in the vehicle on Cory Drive, near 22nd Avenue and Van Buren Street, around 1:30 PM when the driver attempted to make a U-turn near Cory Point Court. It was determined that the cart was going too fast to make the maneuver safely, and the five youths were thrown from the vehicle as it was flipping over.
One of the passengers was taken to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital for treatment for what was described only as non-life threatening injuries, while the other four were shaken but apparently unhurt.
No names were disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
