SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Rotary Club of South Haven is trying something new in this COVID outbreak world to make up for the loss of its major fundraising event in 2020.
Instead of the annual August pancake breakfast at the airport, held in conjunction with the National Blueberry Festival, the Rotarians will stage a “virtual” event through Facebook Live this coming Sunday, August 9th. From 1 to 2:30 PM, there will be streamed live entertainment, testimonials from past Rotary Club grant recipients and interview with local dignitaries, held at South Haven’s downtown pavilion, in an effort to garner “$9,000 in 90 Minutes.”
There will be a limited live audience that will receive a box of pancake mix and a quart of fresh blueberries from the DeGrandchamp Farm for making a donation, and those viewing online can also make a contribution. Last year, the South Haven Rotarians, with support from its district and international clubs, gave over $51,000 to local, regional and international causes.
More information on the virtual pancake breakfast is here.
