HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County health officials noted the 55th COVID-19 death since mid-March this week. The county’s 54th death, reported last week, came after 17 days of zero deaths in the county. The number of postive COVID-19 test results continues rising.
Officials of the Ottawa County Department of Public Health posted the following statistics on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020:

6.3 percent of those stricken were hospitalized

1,224 are considered recovered

53,519 COVID 19 tests conducted in the county

2,455 positive results, 51,064 negative results (4.6 percent positive)
The numbers provided by the health department were as of Aug. 5, 2020.
The highest concentration of cases are in the zip codes 49424, Park Township and Holland’s north side; 49423, the City of Holland; and 49417, Robinson Township. The 20-29-year-old age group continues to show the most cases, with the most deaths of those 80 and over.
