Jim was born and raised in Zeeland and was a graduate of Zeeland High School. He was generally a quiet man, but his friends knew they could count on him to lend a hand when they were in need.
Jim is survived by his parents, Farouk and Linda Karachy; brother, Peter, and Wendy (Fraser) Karachy; niece, Starana Sligh; great-nephew, Messiah; as well as extended family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents: Hazel Oetman, Harvey Oetman, and Mary Oetman.
Visitation with the Karachy family will be from 5-7 pm on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The funeral service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the funeral home.
