HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Ottawa County Patriots will hold not one, but two meetings in August.
The “not-for-profit educational corporation, promoting civic engagement centered on an awareness of the founding principles of our nation,” according to the group’s web page, has the first of those meetings on Tuesday evening. “What the Heck Happened to America, and What Can We Do About It?” is the theme of both the Tuesday session and one on August 25th.
“The topic for August 11th is, ‘COVID 19 – Separating Fact from Fiction,’” OCP President Steve Redmond said, “and also ‘Black Lives Matter – Exposing the Truth behind This Non-Profit Organization’
“One of my concerns has been that there has been so much hysteria and fear rendered about this (pandemic) that, if you want different facts, you pick a different TV channel or a different doctor to talk to. We’re trying to cut through the confusion and give people accurate and factual information.
“As for Black Lives Matter,” Redmond continued, “we’re going to really delve into what is it really – is it really a civil rights group, or is it something else? We’re going to go into its history and into its philosophy, and it might surprise some of those who attend the meeting to see that it’s really a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing.’”
Both meetings are free and open to the public, with doors opening at 6:30 PM, and both are at Lighthouse Baptist Church on 501 E 24th Street in Holland.
