HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A look at transportation along the Lakeshore over the next four years is before the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council’s policy board today.
The panel comprising of elected leaders of various communities in and around the Holland/Zeeland area will be voting on approving the Fiscal Year 2023 to 2026 Transportation Improvement Program. According to MACC Transportation Planner Alex Miller, the document required for soliciting federal funding encompasses all aspects of transportation for the region. “The Transportation Improvement Program covers a four-year period of investment, is realistic in terms of available funding and is not just a ‘wish list’ of projects, conforms with the State Implementation Plan for air quality, since the counties which comprise the MACC’s Metropolitan Area Boundary are designated as attainment-maintenance areas for air quality purposes, and is incorporated into the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program,” Miller said in an introductory statement to the TIP.
The policy board’s meeting begins at 12 Noon in Council Chambers at Holland City Hall.
