WYOMING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Some Ottawa County residents won’t be able to water their lawns for a little while.
Beginning at 6 AM on Tuesday, the City of Wyoming placed a temporary sprinkling ban for communities that are serviced by its water system. This is due to what officials say is “a water transmission main repair” that will take one of the two mains out of service.
In Ottawa County, municipalities impacted by this action include the city of Hudsonville, along with the townships of Park, Holland, Olive, Zeeland, Blendon, Georgetown and Jamestown.
The City of Wyoming will issue municipal civil infractions to violators, although officials didn’t say if they will be asking Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies to enforce this ban. In addition, “the Sprinkling Ban will be in effect until further notice.”
Those receiving water from other sources in Ottawa County are not affected by this ban.
