HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – While the issue of expanding an anti-discrimination ordinance to include the LGBTQ+IA community is on hold, the Holland City Council tackles another tough issue.
During this evening’s work-study session, in which matters are discussed but no decisions are made, the Tulip City’s governing panel will review the Ottawa County/Housing Next material and housing development support documents. Dealing with improving the vicinity’s affordable housing climate was a priority that Council had established during its annual Advance planning meeting earlier this year.
Also during the 5:30 PM work-study session this evening, Council will review a proposed agreement with the ODC Network for sustainability services, and go over a capital projects update.
A second reading and final vote of the proposed expansion of housing and employment protections for the LGBTQ+IA in Holland is expected to be held next Wednesday.
The agenda for tonight’s session and how the public can comment is here.
