HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Dealing with zoning ordinances top the agenda for the first business meeting of 2019 for the Holland City Council.
The first of three proposed changes deal with what Community and Neighborhood Services Director Mark Vanderploeg calls a “need to better align (the city code) regarding accessory uses of residential yards with the fence requirements that were adopted this past March.” The second “further align … site plan review requirements with the recently approved Chapter 29 Storm Water Ordinance (that) includes standards for reviewing and approving stormwater plans as they pertain to private developments.” Finally, “in response to inquiries from Downtown Holland property owners,” strings of lights currently prohibited about be permitted “as long as all lights shall be maintained in good condition and shall not flash, blink, oscillate, have any appearance of movement, create a nuisance or be hung in a way which could be considered a sign.”
Council members are expected to approve all three proposed zoning ordinance amendments during tonight’s meeting that begins around 7 PM in Chambers at Holland City Hall.
