ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – There is new leadership with the Allegan County Board of Commissioners.
In its first meeting of the New Year, the panel selected Holland Republican Jim Storey as its chairman. He moves up from the vice-chair spot that he had held for the past two years under Dean Kapenga of Hamilton.
“One of the reasons that I was pleased to accept the nomination and the election is that I believe Allegan County is on the precipice of doing great things going forward as a county and its people,” Storey explained. “I just think it’s important that we have leadership that wants to bring all of the various factors and geographic divisions of the county together to help us do the things that are necessary so our people can prosper.”
Storey and Kapenga won reelection to two-year terms this past November. Gale Dugan of Otsego replaces Storey as the Allegan County Board’s vice-chair.
