Herbert P. Nienhuis, age 84 of Holland, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
Herb was born September 30, 1937 to Eldert and Henrietta Nienhuis. A veteran of the United States Army, Herb worked for Baker Furniture for over 40 years and was a member of Calvary CRC and Evergreen Commons. He married Joyce (Smith) on Feb. 23, 1962, and had just celebrated 60 years of marriage this past February.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, and his son Travis Nienhuis.
Herb is survived by his wife Joyce of 60 years; 2 daughters, Paula (Jim) Weatherwax and Lori (Dennis) Hostetler; 2 grandchildren, Jason (Danielle) Weatherwax and Amanda Weatherwax; 2 great-grandchildren Zoey and Elijah Weatherwax; many extended family and friends.
Funeral services to celebrate Herb’s life will be 2:00 pm Friday, June 3, 2022, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-2:00 pm Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
