“Uncle Charlie” from Children’s Bible Hour has died, according to an MLive report.
West Michigan resident Charles VanderMeer died Friday. He was 84 and had been featured on the Children’s Bible Hour for years, starting when he was nine and returning to the show after college.
The Children’s Bible Hour was heard worldwide for decades, later becoming CBH Ministries and then Keys for Kids Ministries.
He took on the “Uncle Charlie” persona in 1972 and served as the Children’s Bible Hour ministry director until 1999, then worked as the voice of Keys for Kids until December 2015.
