DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Another Clemens is joining the ranks of Major League Baseball.
The Detroit Tigers Monday called up second baseman Kody Clemens, the son of seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens.
Kody Clemens was recalled from Triple-A after outfielder Robbie Grossman was placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained neck. Clemens was assigned the number-21, which his father wore for the majority of his historic career.
Roger Clemens is planning to be in Detroit for his son’s debut, which is expected to come in Game Two of the Tigers’ doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins tonight.
