ALLEGAN COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — Park rules in Allegan County are about to change. The Board of Commissioners has a public hearing at 1 p.m. Thursday March 14 during its board meeting
Proposed rules include limiting alcohol consumption to designated camp sites only, if the drinkers have a paid camping permit.
The rule would also limit camper to 7-to-10-day stays, says Allegan County Commissoner Jim Storey:
“We’ve had issues in the past, where peole have used our camping parks as permanent summer homes,” he said.
The commissioners meet at the Allegan County Services Buildingm 3283 – 122nd Ave. in Allegan, with a study session set from 9 to 11:30 a.m. with discussion of this year’s projects, and drain funds, and 1 p.m. for regular business.
