HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — From noon to 1 p.m. today, Saturday, June 1, 2019, a group of Holland-area residents will visit Centennial Park to stand for peace.
In an email to WHTC, organizers said they will have signs asking for peace, with extras for people who want to attend but don’t have a sign ready.
The group is using people to “Use Words, Not Weapons” and to say “no” to war and “yes” to peace.
The announcement also cited the Bible’s Fifth Commandment, “Thou shalt not kill.”
The event comes 50 years after John Lennon and Yoko Ono recorded “Give Peace a Chance.”
