Shirley will be missed by her husband and family. She demonstrated her focus on her family through her consistent care and knowing what was going on with each person – especially the grandkids. Her care was tangible, interactive, and at the forefront of her life. She treated each member as an individual, recognizing their gifts, and was the “quiet anchor”. Time spent with family playing games will be treasured memories. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her family and friends to special places such as Disney and northern Michigan and loved the back roads with a “see what we could find” approach.
She is survived by her husband, Max Dalman; children, Darcey (Todd) Heerspink, Joel (Linda) Dalman, Eric (Julie) Dalman, Kyle (Kim) Dalman; grandchildren, Zach (Rachel) Heerspink, Erin (Barrett) Mills, Lauren (Shane) Gerow, Jason Dalman, Matthew Dalman, Morgan Dalman, Tyler Dalman, Ryan Dalman, Hailey Dalman; great-grandchildren, Isaac Heerspink, Ember Mills, Oliver Gerow; sister, Sandy (Gary) Dreyer; sister, Phyllis Dekkinga; sister-in-law, Phyllis Prins; brother-in-law, Darl (Judy) Dalman; and brother-in-law, Greg (Patricia) Dalman.
Visitation with the family is 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home 315 E. 16th St. Holland, MI 49423.
Funeral services are at 10:00 am on Friday, May 27, 2022, and also at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home.
