HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The City of Zeeland will host a public meeting on the plans for a roundabout at the three-way intersection of Washington and Main avenues at the west side of town.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. today, June 4, 2019, at the Howard Miller Community Center’s banquet room, 14 S. Church St. in Zeeland.
Zeeland Mayor Kevin Klynstra says the project is about $400,000 over budget — thanks to a very busy construction season.
The total cost of the project is just over $2.1 million, but federal and state grants are reducing the city’s cost to $1.6 million, according to city documents.
The roundabout had long been a goal, to increase safety at that three-way intersection. The work will include safety related changes to the parking lot at Captain Sundae’s at that intersection
