HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested an 18-year-old Holland Township man on suspicion of home invasion of an occupied dwelling. He was arrested in Zeeland early Thursday, June 13, 2019, and since questioned by sheriff’s detectives. It started at about 6:30 a.m Thursday, when a Holland Township resident on Foxwood Trail alerted police that suspect had gotten into the home. The homeowner confronted the suspect, who ran outside.
Sheriff’s deputies responding to the scene searched for the suspect, who was arrested in Zeeland, when police spotted a man matching the home-invader’s description. Investigators since learned the suspect appears to be involved in at least three other home invasions over the last month, in the general area of 112th Avenue and James Street in Holland Township.
All the incidents happened between 5 and 7 a.m. — and nothing was taken. No one was injured in any of the break-ins.
All of the home that were entered were unlocked, said Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett. The suspect’s name is being withheld, pending his arraignment of charges. He remains in Ottawa County Jail. Anyone with any information is asked to call Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT. Holland Department of Public Safety’s K9 unit and Zeeland Police officers assisted deputies in this case.
